Turning Local Ideas Into Real Projects
The Community Voices Fund formed part of Pride in Place’s commitment to giving local people the opportunity to shape the future of Layton & Grange Park.
The fund provided grants of £250 to £10,000 to support projects and activities that would make a positive difference to the local area.
Applications were invited for ideas that brought people together, improved neighbourhoods, supported wellbeing or celebrated community pride.
What Funding Was Available?
Small Community Grants
£250–£2,500
These grants were intended for smaller community activities, local events and neighbourhood projects.
Community Action Grants
£2,500–£10,000
These grants supported larger projects delivered by community organisations, charities, schools and local partnerships.
Who Could Apply?
Applications were welcomed from organisations including:
- Community groups
- Charities
- Community organisations
- Schools
- Faith organisations
- Sports clubs
- Voluntary organisations
Local residents with an idea who were not part of an organisation could also get in touch. Where possible, Pride in Place aimed to help connect them with a suitable community partner.
What Could Be Funded?
The Community Voices Fund was designed to support projects that benefited local people.
Examples included:
- Community events
- Environmental improvements
- Arts and culture
- Health and wellbeing projects
- Activities for children and young people
- Community gardens
- Local volunteering initiatives
- Projects that built community pride
The fund sought projects that would bring people together and improve life across Layton & Grange Park.
